
This Wednesday, Governador Valadares City Hall hands in, to the president of the Union of the Jewelry Industries, Goldsmith’s Art, Stonecutting and Precious Stones Art, Watchmaker’s Shops, Precious Metal Veneer and Costume Jewelry of the State of Minas Gerais (Sindijóias- MG), Raymundo Vianna, a 100-thousand-real check in order to support the 12th Brazil Gem Show. Mayor José Bonifácio Mourão acknowledges the importance of another edition of Brazil Gem Show in the city. “ The accomplishment of such magnitude is very important for the city, hence, the City Hall has supported the event throughout the years, with its participation and this 100-thousand-real agreement. We acknowledge the town’s potential and therefore Valadares is considered a center in the precious stone trade market", states Mayor Mourão.
Visitors of 22 countries and 14 Brazilian states should attend the 12th Brazil Gem Show, the major Latin American fair of precious stones, which will happen from June 25 to 28. The city is considered one of the world’s biggest centers of extraction, stonecutting and trade of minerals and stones, and has already successfully held the two previous editions of the fair.
Business amount this year should overcome the US$ 10 million registered in 2007. There will be 180 exhibitors and more than 3,350 participants. Altogether, about 15 thousand people should go by the fair.
Brazil Gem Show is accomplished by SINDIJÓIAS-GEMAS/MG – Union of the Jewelry Industries, Goldsmith’s Art, Stonecutting and Precious Stones Art, Watchmaker’s Shops, Precious Metal Veneer and Costume Jewelry of the State of Minas Gerais, by AJOMIG – Association of Jewelry Makers, Precious Stones, Watches and Costume Jewelry Businessmen of Minas Gerais, by the Regional Delegacy of Sindijóias-Gemas in Governador Valadares and by IBGM – Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Stones.
